instead of thinking about a song as having parts/sections/verse/chorus/etc, think of a song as a story
something happens, and then some other things happen, and some things at the end refer back to some things from earlier, and then it ends in a different place than it started
movements, maybe, on a more narrative scale? maybe this is dumb, look my brain works how it works
whatever. I did follow a slightly different process this time, which is INTERESTING (to me). Normally i don’t post until i’m about 90% where I want the song to be, but this time I was maybe 50%. I was like…there’s some ideas here,,,,idk. And then uploading a very rough draft and listening while I walked around etc was helpful in forming how I wanted the rest of it to be.
